Windshield Wiper Blade Replacement near Boston, MA
With the temperamental weather in Boston, it's extremely important to maintain your Volkswagen’s windshield wiper blades. So, if you’re interested in finding out how we can help, read this short article to learn more about what our team here at Boston Volkswagen can do for you.
Wiper Blade Importance
Although often overlooked, your Jetta’s windshield wiper blades serve an important role. Whether it's the rain or dust from the road, the wiper blades work to keep your vision clear. If these vital components were to no longer work, then your drive to Fenway Park could come to an abrupt end, as it’s never a good idea to drive without seeing. So, it’s extremely important to keep these parts in good working order.
Warning Signs
Since they may not always be in use, it can be hard to tell when it’s time to replace them, but there are some warning signs that will clearly indicate to you when to act. Should you find that there are streaks left on the window or that they fail to remove all of the water blocking your vision, then that can be a sign. If you hear a squeaking or scratching sound when they're engaged, then that can also be an indication. Should these components stutter as they move along the glass, then that too can be a sign that the rubber has chipped, eroded, or broken. If any of these problems affecting you, then you should consider coming into our Service Department.
Replacement Process
When our team of certified Volkswagen technicians take a look, they’ll be sure to quickly solve the issue for you to be back out on I-93 in no time. There are a wide variety of different wiper blades and every car has its own setup, but we’ll be sure to find the correct ones in our Parts Department. Since this process takes so little time, it can be a smart decision to get other maintenance work done on your car while it’s with us. Typically, you won’t have to schedule an appointment for a wiper blade replacement, but you should if you want to also have your car’s oil changed or battery tested.
How Often Should I Get My Windshield Wiper Blades Replaced?
- You should replace your car's windshield wiper blades at least once a year.

“ Super easy to work with the people there. ”
“ I am so excited!!! Just purchased my first car ever. A 2021 Jetta. My salesperson was Jeff, can't say enough good things about him. I went to 4 dealerships before stopping at Boston VW. So glad I did. Jeff listened to me rathered than talked all the time like a few of the salespeople I've dealt with. My Jetta has all the options I wanted and the payment is less than what I budgeted for. Very happy!!! ”
“ I worked with Jeff at Boston Volkswagen, and the experience was night and day compared to my last car-buying experience. The last time I bought a car, I felt completely steamrolled and pushed into a situation I should never have been in. Because of that, I was extremely nervous walking into this purchase. Jeff changed that for me. He answered every question I had, never rushed me, and never once tried to upsell me on anything I didn’t need. I felt genuinely comfortable and respected throughout the entire process — even when I was indecisive or anxious. I brought my dad with me at first because I was so worried about repeating my past experience, and Jeff was incredibly patient and professional with both of us. When I returned on my own, he treated me with the exact same level of care and respect, which meant a lot. He addressed all my concerns quickly and made sure I understood every step. If you want a salesperson who is honest, knowledgeable, and truly on your side, I highly recommend working with Jeff. He made a stressful process feel safe and straightforward. ”
“ Huge shout out to Jeff and the team at Boston VW. They helped me pull together a last-minute deal on a sweet EV. (Literally last minute, as they waited for me to drive down from Maine on September 30th to see this car and make the deal happen before the EV tax credits ended.) Jeff is exactly who you want as a salesperson - knows his stuff, quick to communicate, and straight talking and honest in that Boston way. ”
“ Very helpful and informative! ”
“ We had a great experience purchasing our vehicle from VW Boston in Watertown. Guil was extremely helpful, never pressured us, and dealt with all of the details quickly and with excellent communication throughout the process. ”
“ Gil was very professional, no sales pressure, and extremely knowledgeable about the VW ID.4’s workings. The vehicle turned out to be right-sized for my wife, attractive inside and out, with all the creatures comforts and then some (ventilated seats with massage! and parallel self-parking) that she was looking for, and a great lease rate! They combed the area for the exact color combination my wife wanted and found it. The folks at Boston VW couldn’t have been more accommodating. And a very modern showroom to boot. ”
“ We love Boston VW! It's the best dealership! Great customer service and great workspace for when you are waiting for service. ”
“ Great staff as always at Boson Volkswagen! ”
“ Scott was my salesman and it was absolutely seamless working with him, quick to make things happen and got me test driven and with finance incredibly quick, was honest from the get go and worked very hard with me to make me get into the exact car I wanted, even staying after hours for things. Thank you Scott for getting me into my 2025 GTI! ”
“ I recently purchased a new car (2025 Taos) from Boston Volkswagen, and I couldn’t be happier with the entire experience. We worked with Scott, and from the moment we walked in, I felt welcomed and at ease. There no pressure, no pushy sales tactics, just genuine help in finding us the right car. The whole sales team seems to follow suit, highly recommend ”
“ Sales process very simple and easy Scott Arsenault was my sales associate. He was fantastic and has been through the process even post sale. ”
“ Malik helped me in purchasing a 2024 VW Taos, and I would recommend him to anyone looking to buy a car at Boston VW. He was able to hold the car for me for a day, and then made the process extremely easy and fast, along with going out of his way to make sure I get the best deal. Great salesman who also wants the best for his customers. ”
“ Great staff ”
“ If you are in the market for a new 2025 Tiguan I highly recommend coming to Boston Volkswagen. We worked with a gentleman by the name of Scott Arsenault. Great guys, No pressure, poised calm, and a pleasure to work with! Highly recommend working with Scott to anyone! It made buying a new car that more exciting! ”
“ Very nice work for introducing the Atlas and detailed explanations for all my concerns. ”
“ I would like to express my appreciation to everyone in the Watertown Service Department. I bought in my Jetta for an air leak and they were able to accommodate me and fix the issue sooner than expected. Great customer service; starting from the lady who I spoke with on the phone to Ace who works in the service department. I am very pleased and would recommend this Volkswagon. I feel in good hands here. ”
“ Gave them an easy deal over the phone for a 2019 Explorer, gave them credit card to buy the car, tried scamming $600 for Simoniz after the fact and would not remove on a used rusty car we overlooked all the flaws on. This is not a dealership from 2026 they are from 1996. Go literally anywhere else. Dumb reason to lose a deal. ”
“ Really dismal. I think in 8 interactions over 6 years, all but one has been extremely negative. The weird thing is they usually admit they messed up. One guy even wanted to shake my hand he was so sorry. I wasn’t rude or anything and they’re perfectly nice but… it’s always something lol ”
“ I had my car heater repaired for the third time in three years. When I was going to pay, I was charged an additional 3% for using my credit card. I have filed a complaint with the Attorney General’s office in Massachusetts due to this being Illegal in the state. ”
“ I leased my car through Boston VW in Watertown and worked with Justin, who recommended going through a third-party company, CalAutomotive, to get a supposedly cheaper deal. It sounded fine at the time, but the experience has been terrible. When I returned the car for trade-in: • CalAutomotive held the car for two weeks before disclosing wear-and-tear charges. • The fees were extremely high—over $3,000 for every customer. • They only reveal the full cost after the car is in their possession, leaving no room to negotiate. It’s clear that the VW dealer, and by extension Justin, referred customers to CalAutomotive to secure a deal for themselves, without concern for the customer’s experience. If they truly cared about their clients, they wouldn’t have sent anyone there. ”
“ DO NOT WORK WITH MAILK!!! He is very unprofessional and does not tell the truth. He lied and slipped in a $600 Simoniz, he put in the paper work that I signed off on it and never did!!! He also lied about what was in my warranty, he lied and said he put my deposit toward my car payment, and when I asked for the money back, I had to hassle him to get a refund. What worse is everyone else enables his lies, and they are all in on it. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND DOING BUSINESS HERE ESPECIALLY WITH MALIK. ”
“ I may have to go to small claims court. I worked with a salesperson to put a $1000 deposit on an ID Buzz coming in soon. He told me it was fully refundable and was even fine holding the car without it but we wanted to be sure to get it. However, the car came and I told them my plans had changed. It no longer made sense to get the car for the family. I have asked multiple times for it back. The first time the manager told me it wasn't refundable, then said it was if the car sold, then stopped responding. It's clear they are just trying to pocket the money.. ”
“ Go to the VW dealer in Medford instead!! I will say the receptionist I spoke to here was very nice but then when she transferred me to the auto shop the woman I spoke to had a bit of an attitude and wasn’t very helpful. I had an engine light on but also wanted to get something else inspected and she told me if I did that, I would be charged the $230 maintenance fee TWICE ($460) to look at the two things. Then they couldn’t get me in until the next week and didn’t have any available loner cars at that time. This is totally fine but they were not helpful in letting me know of any other accommodations available. I didn’t feel great about the additional fee and the lack of a loner so I called the VW shop in Medford to compare and they were happy to take me in same day. They also only charged me for ONE maintenance fee and it’s $195 there. After dropping my car they even paid for my uber home! So if you’re looking for great customer service and to save a few bucks along the way, I’d go to Medford! ”
“ They broke the fuel compartment door trying to open it and charged $750 to replace it when they broke it trying to open it. ”
“ Abysmal service, seller price gouged me. Every recall that I get is a fight with the service department to even give an appointment. Service department is rude and condescending. Because of this dealership I will never buy a VW again. Can’t believe the salesman was trashing Kia, I had way better service at Kia. Probably will be back to them when this nightmare of a lease ends ”
“ Service department is terrible. Scheduled my ID4 for some recalls and scheduled maintenance. They scheduled it for a Thurs AM drop off and said it would be ready Friday end of day or Saturday AM. Called Friday afternoon to check. Unless you remember your advisors name, it is practically impossible for anyone to tell you what the status is. Also lots of transferring, being put on hold, etc. Finally spoke to the advisor. No - car won't be ready Friday, or Saturday because there are no ID4 techs that work on Saturday. Called Monday, the advisor was not available, so left a voicemail. Didn't hear back all day. Called again in the afternoon, turns out the advisor wasn't in Monday. Person I spoke to said they would have advisor call Tuesday at 8am with an update. Of course, no call on Tuesday. Called midday Tuesday. "The car is still waiting to get into the shop". What?! I brought it in Thursday and now it is Tuesday and you haven't touched it? No, ID4s are very backed up. Ok, I get that, but why tell me to bring it in Thursday if you are that backed up? Blah blah blah. No good answer. Oh, by the way, did you get the voicemail I left you yesterday? No, I wasn't in yesterday. Yes, I know, that's why I left you a voicemail so you would know to call me when you were in. Apparently the flashing red light on the phone means nothing. I went by on Tuesday after work and picked up the car with nothing having been done to it. When the advisor brought the car around for me, I got "OK, here you go". No sorry for the inconvenience, wish we were able to provide better service. Taking the car elsewhere. ”
“ Made an appointment for 8:15 for recalls for which I’d been waiting over 5 months for parts. Was told this was the only time I could get a loaner. I get there? No loaner. Was told I could reschedule after having just driven nearly an hour in morning Boston traffic. That’s not right. ”
“ Dishonest and Misleading — Beware. We leased a car from Boston VW in 2021, and the experience has been nothing but frustrating. At the time, we were told that returning the vehicle at lease-end would be simple and could be done at any VW dealership. What they didn’t make clear was that this was a captive lease, tying us not only to VW, but specifically to Boston VW. After moving out of state, we tried multiple times to return the car to our local VW dealership with no success—ultimately forcing us to drive all the way back to Massachusetts just to return it. This was incredibly misleading and not something we would have agreed to had we known the full picture. It felt like we were taken advantage of as first-time leasers. To make matters worse, we ended up getting a new VW from them because we had no real choice given the lease setup. They told us the car had been serviced and had an oil change, but when it was delivered, the oil change light was on. Their response? “Just reset the sensor.” When we asked for service records, it became clear the oil change never happened. This dealership is sneaky and not transparent. Be very cautious when dealing with them—especially if you’re new to leasing. We regret trusting them. ”
“ We had such a great experience with Malik! He was super knowledgeable and made us feel comfortable every step of the way. Would highly recommend working with him when purchasing your next car! ”
