Volkswagen Up! Production Model Debuts in Frankfurt

In America, the notion of tiny cars often means restricted interiors, little storage, and gutless engines. But German automaker Volkswagen challenged this idea when it released concept models of the anticipated Volkswagen Up! at the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show in August.

The Volkswagen Up! lineup includes a series of models based on different lifestyles. From indulgent, "far-out" models to down-to-earth, realistic ones, Volkswagen designed each concept to cater to a specific market segment.

After a solid time of testing, the production version of the three-door Volkswagen Up! was released. This Volkswagen Up! contains a long wheelbase of 95.3 inches…

You're absolutely going to love the Beetle R concept, the German automaker just revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show. It's sportier. It's more indulgent. And, it pushes the more masculine silhouette of the 2012 model about three steps further.

Volkswagen Gets Up!

Volkswagen first introduced their up! concept in 2007, at the Frankfurt Motor Show.  Ever since, we've been hoping to see a production model. Happily, we don't have long to wait. The up! production model will make its world premier at the Grand Palais on the Champs-Elsees in Paris, on August 22.

Given the Volkswagen up!'s modern, yet super-friendly aesthetic, and comfortable seating for four, it's certain to give other cars competing?

Passat Wagon To Be Offered In Euro-Market

It is easy to see why the Volkswagen Passat has become a popular car for many Americans, offering more options and luxury features than its competitors. Unfortunately, reports that the Euro-market Volkswagen Passat Wagon was seen testing on American soil filled many with false hopes for greater cargo room.

Volkswagen has officially ruled against bringing the Passat wagon to North America. While Boston Volkswagen can empathize with the disappointment this news brings, we can't say we're surprised. The days when wagons were the apple of U.S. drivers' eyes represent a bygone era. Today, Volkswagen is appealing to U.S. consumer demand for taller, beefier vehicles with the Tiguan SUV, Touareg SUV, and Routan minivan. And remember, they haven't discounted the old-school cool of wagons entirely. For families and sports enthusiasts craving a little more room for people and gear, Volkswagen presents the "wagon for people who aren't wagon people...with vroom to spare"1: the Jetta SportWagen.

VW CC Named TOP SAFETY PICK by IIHS

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has recently tested the safety of eight mid-size to large sedans.
