It's said that the
Volkswagen Golf GTI is oft kopiert, nie erreicht. That means
"often copied, never equaled" in German. We'd tend to agree; the
sporty hatch is like no other. What's also unique about it is the yearly
festival dedicated to the model itself in Wörthersee.
It's a place where GTI lovers
can gather to show off their rides that they've tuned and customized,
participate in burnout events, and just have an all-around good time with
parties and music. VW uses it as a venue to showcase new
Volkswagen models, and even premiere the latest ideas and
concepts.
At this year's event, the
automaker rolled out the Golf GTD, a diesel-powered GTI, the GTI Cabriolet
designed by apprentices from VW plants as they hone skills and foster teamwork,
and a rally edition of the popular European-only Volkswagen Polo.
There were two models that
really stood out to us at Boston Volkswagen, however. One
would be the Amarok Power Pickup, providing most of the world with a small
truck option with all the amenities you'd expect to find on new VW models.
We're hoping one day, it can come to the U.S. and our Watertown,
MA showroom. The other would be the Design Vision Golf GTI. This bold
and daring hatch has a stunning exterior frame, and boasts a 503-horsepower,
3.0-liter V6 TSI with two turbo chargers. With specs like that, you know it
will be fun to drive.
If you'd like to take a closer
look at new Volkswagen models, stop in and see us today. Our team would be
happy to answer any questions you might have, and set up test drives at your
convenience.
