Volkswagen Golf R Coming To US

It is confirmed; the supercharged VW Golf R will come to North America in 2012. "The European Golf R is simply the most powerful Volkswagen sports performance vehicle ever built," according to a statement released by VW.

Volkswagen Goes For 170 MPG

Trying to stretch out the use of fuel is not a new concept. Back in 2002, Volkswagen designed a concept car that could go 100 kilometers on 1 liter of fuel, which is the equivalent of about 235 mpg. In 2010, Volkswagen shows off the second generation of their 1 liter concept, the L1. The German auto maker intends to have it in production by 2013.

Volkswagen Golf blue-e-motion

At the Los Angeles auto show VW brought their new technology, and some had the chance to drive the German auto maker's upcoming Golf blue-e-motion, their all-electric variant of the Golf, due to launch in 2014.

Golf blue-e-motion's range as 93 miles, but hopes to make that number higher by the time the model goes into production in 2013 says Volkswagen.
